For one, it brought along with its education and enlightenment. The difference it has made can be seen in the average rural/urban settlement. We have learned a lot from the West. So we live in a comfortable house, have house helps, guards, cooks, butlers, cars etc.  An average day will be; wake up in the morning, get dressed for work; go to the dining room where the steward will have served breakfast, made by the cook. The driver has washed and warmed the car engine. Just waiting for you. The Butler carries your briefcase (you can't even carry that yourself!). She had a walking stick, was bent over, but she was still moving and “mama was gonna shop!” Now an eighty-year-old, rural woman; Yea, she can still be going to the farm. But an educated, enlightened, rich eighty-year-old? Never! She will prefer that the shopping come to her.
