Tatyana Alli marries Stanford English professor Vaughn Raspberry

This is a blog post by Sammi Sikpojie... Tatyana Ali got married on Sunday in a private ceremony in Beverly Hills which was exclusively reported by PEOPLE magazine.

The actress whose claim to fame is the 90s sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel Air got married to Stanford English professor Vaughn Raspberry.

One outstanding fact about this Union is that the couple met on an online dating website e-harmony almost two years ago.

E-harmony is a website founded 16 years ago for the purpose of what Tatyana and Vaughn achieved through it.

People have certain perceptions about online dating; they feel decent people cannot be found online, that online dating profiles are highly falsified.

There is also the idea that it is only desperate people that go online in search of love and these notions are even highlighted in movies.

It is true that there have been some cases of people being assaulted and brutalized by individuals they met on the Internet but it should be understood that the Internet is the representation of the real world on your computer or mobile device.

So there are some steps in caution you should always take when meeting someone new but the idea is there are good people in the midst of the bad people. It’s the world.

In the case of Tatyana Ali we don’t know how long it took her and how many unworthy persons she would have come across before meeting Dr. Vaughn but we do know that she got her man from an Internet dating website.

And also we do see she got married to a decent well placed man in the eyes of society and civic responsibility.

So as this couple journey into the world of matrimony, the world would be hoping they continue to build a strong precedent for social networking and online dating in particular.
