Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly eyeing Japanese international Zion Suzuki, according to "Gazzetta dello Sport." The Parma goalkeeper impressed at the World Cup in North America and has already established himself as one of Europe's top players in his position.
The Parisian club has faced some challenges in the goalkeeping department. Last summer, Gianluigi Donnarumma departed for Manchester City. His replacement, Lucas Chevalier, failed to convince with his performances, opening the door for Matvey Safonov, who became the starter for the latter part of the season. Meanwhile, the European club champions have signed 18-year-old Alessandro Longoni, who is expected to be the third-choice goalkeeper next season.
Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Leeds are also reportedly interested in Suzuki. The "Magpies" are monitoring the goalkeeper but haven't yet decided to make an offer, as James Trafford remains their primary target. Leeds, in particular, is in definite need of a goalkeeper following the departures of Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow.
