The NBA's potential expansion into Europe remains a burning topic in basketball, especially after the Como meeting where EuroLeague brass turned down the NBA's initial proposal.

However, a prominent NBA insider firmly believes the two sides will eventually join forces.

He shared his thoughts during a live broadcast of "The Hoop Collective" podcast from Manila, where he also discussed the growing wave of international players entering the NBA.

"I think the influx of international players into the NBA is going to grow even more because of two things: first, the NBA is going to expand into Europe—it will happen, I promise you. And part of how they'll get everyone on board is by guaranteeing investment in European players. That will be part of their pitch when this is finalized. They will cap the number of American players on those teams and expand rosters because they'll compete across two different competitions—their domestic league and the NBA. Their message will be: the reason you should care about our new franchises in London, Rome, and elsewhere, as well as the existing clubs, is because we will develop European talent. They've been eyeing Europe for over 20 years. They'll commit to it just like they did with the WNBA. They won't care if the start is bumpy or draws early criticism—they are going to invest in it." – Brian Windhorst

He added that the global game is booming, with elite talent emerging from all corners of the world at an unprecedented rate.

"Second, international basketball is thriving. It's flourishing here in the Philippines, and it's booming across other parts of Asia. Look at Japan—they've grown into a real force. In Australia, we just featured 17-year-old Luke Paul on our podcast, someone who has every chance to become the next big Australian star." – Brian Windhorst
