The traditional engagement party saw the American singer and parents travelling all the way to Mumbai last Friday, August 17, where they met with the Indian actress’ parents before the ceremony.
By Saturday, 36-year-old Chopra posted a burst of photos of the whole group together, dressed traditionally, gathered for a roka ceremony that officially confirms her engagement to Nick, 25.
“The only way to do this. . . with Family and God. Thank you all for your wishes and blessings,” she wrote.
She posted another dreamy photo for the gram, which shows her closely held in her beau’s embrace, subtly showing off her engagement ring, reportedly worth ₦72.3million.
“Taken.. With all my heart and soul…” she writes.
The roka ceremony is one of a number of pre-wedding events held to celebrate engaged couples in India. A source who knows the couple recently told E! News, “All of the plans are moving quickly and Priyanka and Nick do not want to have a long engagement.”
Priyanka and Nick’s engagement first became news in July, just two months after the couple started dating.
