The highlight of football in England last weekend was the two semi-final games of the
Chelsea beat Tottenham 4-2 on Saturday, April 22, while the following day Arsenal battled to a 2-1 win over Manchester City.
Although not Premier League games, these semi-finals could play a huge part in the remaining games of the league season.
Chelsea 4 Vs Tottenham 2
The way Chelsea withstood lots of pressure from Tottenham to win the tie 4-2 shows why they are likely to win the league and why Tottenham won’t.
Tottenham dominated the game from everywhere except where it matter most, goals. Despite dominating the game, Spurs could not make good use of it. It seems they froze on the big stage.

Chelsea meanwhile showed why they are on top of the Premier League table. Played tactically, defended sturdily and killed off the game at the most critical point.
Chelsea now have the psychological edge ahead of the crucial title run-in.
Tottenham have been great this season, there were also great last season but finished third in the Premier League last season. Another season without a title shows they still have something important missing about them.
They better fix it or risk losing their best team in history without any trophy.
Arsenal 2 Vs Manchester City 1
Arsenal like Chelsea also won their semi-final clash after defending and digging in deep. In this tie, Manchester City dominated possession and had more shots on target. Arsenal, however, found a rare resilience to win the game.
Currently seventh in the Premier League, Arsenal have a couple of games to get more points and might still have a chance to make top four.

For the second consecutive game, Arsene Wenger used his 3-4-3 and against Manchester City, it proved to be a system that might work for them for at least for the rest of this season.
With Liverpool losing games, the top four is still reachable for Wenger’s men.
