Anticipation is building that Newcastle captain Bruno Guimarães is set for a summer move to Arsenal, with the Premier League champions reportedly growing increasingly confident in securing the Brazilian midfielder, according to the BBC.

The 28-year-old Brazilian international, who has previously expressed his desire to join the Gunners, has been a prime target for the London club throughout the transfer window. Sources indicate that Arsenal aims to finalize a deal in the coming days, which could reach a staggering €93 million.

Should this valuation be confirmed, Bruno Guimarães' sale would rank as the fifth most expensive transfer this summer, on a list predominantly topped by Premier League clubs.

This summer's most expensive signings:

Bruno Guimarães arrived at Newcastle in 2022 from Lyon, and since then has scored 31 goals in 195 appearances. For the Brazilian national team, he boasts 48 caps and three goals. His departure would represent another significant loss for Newcastle, who have already seen Sandro Tonali transfer to Tottenham and Anthony Gordon head to Barcelona.

Before focusing on Guimarães, the Gunners had shown interest in Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers but declined to meet his €93 million valuation. Rogers ultimately signed for Chelsea in a €138 million deal.
