Du'a (supplication) for rain and thunder

We are still in the raining season and this looks like a perfect time to learn about the dua one makes when it rains.

At the time of rain:

اللَّهُمَّ صَيِّبَاً نَافِعَا

Transliteration: Allaahumma Sayyibann Naafi’aa

Meaning: “O Allaah, (bring) beneficial rain clouds.”

After it has rained:

مُطِرْنَا بِفَضْلِ اللهِ وَ رَحْمَتِهِ

Transliteration: Mutirnaa bifaDlillaahi wa rahmatihi

Meaning: “It has rained by the bounty of Allaah and His Mercy”

At the time of thunder:

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي يُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةٌ مِنْ خِيفَتِهِ

Transliteration: SubHanalladhii yusabbiHur ra’du bi hamdihi wal malaa-ikatu min kheefatihi

Meaning: “Glory is to Him Whom thunder and angels glorify due to fear of Him.
