Porzingis takes urgent steps over concerning illness: Thanks to all the "internet doctors", but...
According to Luca Evans of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Latvian star recently traveled to Los Angeles to seek expert medical advice regarding his illness.
"Porzingis' statement Wednesday was clearly intended to emphasize that he's putting in the effort to figure out what ails him. A source close to the situation said Porzingis was recently in Los Angeles to seek a specialist's medical opinion," the report stated.
The Golden State Warriors announced in a press release on Wednesday that Kristaps Porzingis has finally arrived at the team facility and met with Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Rick Celebrini. However, despite being back around the team, there is still no clear update regarding the exact nature of his illness or his recovery timeline.
In a social media post following the Warriors' announcement, Porzingis finally broke his silence to reveal that he is making progress in recovering from the undisclosed health issue.
Hey guys, working with doctors and specialists to figure out how to be back to 100% as soon as possible. Honestly feeling better and better. Just gotta be patient and I know I will be back feeling great soon. Definitely has been frustrating dealing with health stuff that you can't really define on top of all the career injuries, it definitely adds up, but we will overcome this. Health is the real wealth. Thank you all for the support.
He then added:
I appreciate all the "internet doctors" trying to diagnose me and help me out, but I'm in the best hands. So you can all chill now – and I don't have HIV or AIDS.
Speaking to the media, Steve Kerr was unable to provide a specific timetable for Porzingis' return.
Porzingis has been sidelined since the start of training camp and missed the entire preseason. Kerr admitted he had not seen him in person and described the situation as "definitely concerning."
