'What can words do?' by Ebidenyefa Tarila Nikade
They are the bedrock of all communication
Feelings of love and hate; joy and sorrow
They effectively express
Actions speak louder than it they say
But even the action is called a verb
And a verb is a doing word
Letters birth words
Words on which our lives depend
What can words do?
They are the writer's tool
The singer's messenger
The leader's persuasion
The expression of woe and bliss
Even figures are written in words
Spoken words like broken eggs are irretrievable
Written words cuddle the mind
Forever imprinted though easily erased
Call it speech or language,
Words are their sole benefactor
What can words do?
Peace or war
Words decides and chronicles it
A poem or prose
Words string them differently and beautifully
Words make or mar
They sure kill and make alive
What you say is what you get
Life and death are resident in the tongue
The tongue-words natural habitat
The mind- their point of origin
Words, like love is a unifying force so strong
They make a marriage
Bind a union, build a home
An agreement or stay or leave
Blessings or cursing
Words are the conveyors
What can words do?
The world was made by words
The words of the maker
Spoken so assuredly
Each one never failing
You ask me again
What can words do?
Everything!
