The 4 things you should know before picking up cologne
Fragrances are must haves for guys and ladies as it's become/should form a part of the skincare routine.
Fragrance/wearing some form of scent is necessary largely for hygiene purposes and of course to smell good, they come in variety that people snag based on their preferences.
A lot of people however pick up any type of scent not considering what's best for what. For some people there is a need to 'mask' a certain 'smell' (or odour in extreme cases) that they have, for some it's to smell fresher for every perspiration and so on.
Here are four different forms of fragrances to guide you when next you are going shopping for them:
1. Perfume or Parfum
Perfume is the most potentĀ and expensive form containing about 25-40% fragrance oil. This should be applied sparingly asĀ its more concentrated on the skin. it usually lasts around 9-16 hours and it's very intense.
2. Eau de Perfume (EDP)
Eau de Perfume contains around18-25% of fragrance oil. They contain parts of water and alcohol. They last roughly around 6-9 hours, compared to the perfume, they are less intense.
3. Eau De Toilette (EDT)
Eau de toilette contains about 8-15% of fragrance oilĀ and lasts around 4-6 hours as they have lighter fragrance. These are great for every day wear.
4. Eau De Cologne (EDC)
Eau de cologne contains 5-15% of fragrance oilĀ and lasts just around 2-4 hours. This is an extremely light form of scent.
