The Chevrolet Colorado truck that is awarded to the Super Bowl MVP will be given directly to cornerback Malcolm Butler instead.

A Chevrolet spokesperson confirmed the truck's new owner to ESPN and said that the event will take place Tuesday in Boston.

Quarterback Tom Brady, who earned his third Super Bowl MVP after the New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX, decided that Butler should have the prize.

However, that means Butler will have to pay the taxes on the truck, which is worth an estimated $35,000.

Butler sealed New England's Super Bowl victory when he intercepted Russell Wilson's goalline pass at the end of the fourth quarter.

He made $585,000 during his rookie season, while Tom Brady has made an estimated $150 million during his career.
