Patrick Vieira: All of France's Key Players Disappeared

Former French national team midfielder Patrick Vieira has weighed in on France's 2-0 defeat to Spain in the 2026 World Cup semi-finals.

"Everyone expected France to win the World Cup. We are very disappointed with the result, but even more so with the performance itself, because today we expected our key players to step up, and that didn't happen," Vieira stated.

"It's not about one or two players – they all disappeared. As a team, we played very poorly," added the former star of Les Bleus.

France will now compete for third place at the World Cup against either England or Argentina.
