Partizan has been sanctioned by the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) due to outstanding financial obligations to Kevin Punter, amounting to approximately 170,000 euros.
The club now finds itself on the list of sanctioned teams. Court documents reveal that Punter's net earnings for the 2023/24 season were around 2,000,000 euros. Although he had a contract for the 2024/25 season, he transferred to Barcelona in the summer of 2024.
Partizan argued that it was not obligated to pay the "personal annual income tax," which applies to individuals whose earnings exceed three times the average annual salary in the Republic of Serbia. Citing this argument, the club withheld two payments totaling approximately 300,000 euros, later paying the player half of that amount.
Ultimately, Punter won the dispute, receiving the outstanding amount along with an annual interest rate of 5% and an additional 20,000 euros to cover legal and arbitration costs.
