It appears increasingly likely that Rafael Leão's future may not lie in Milan this season. Despite Ruben Amorim starting his compatriot in the friendly against Chelsea, the coach reportedly doesn't view Leão as a priority for AC Milan.
This information comes from Gazzetta dello Sport, which reveals that the Rossoneri's number 10 has failed to convince Amorim of his utility within the coach's usual tactical setup.
Consequently, according to the same newspaper, club officials have even accepted an alleged recommendation from Amorim to lower Rafael Leão's asking price – from €50-60 million to €40-45 million. This comes as no concrete offers have materialized, despite interest shown by Galatasaray.
Gazzetta dello Sport also reports that despite an initially good relationship with the player, some club officials now view Leão as "a source of negativity, especially after he expressed a desire to leave Milan."
A transfer news page on social media, Transfer News Live, picked up on the Gazzetta dello Sport story, publishing that Amorim "considers Rafael Leão a negative influence in the dressing room and is concerned about the impact he could have on the squad." This prompted a reaction from the Portuguese international.
"Perhaps you are [the bad influence] because you are lying," he commented, accompanied by three laughing emojis.
