Ottawa Senators double up against Toronto Maple Leafs

Bobby Ryan led the Ottawa Senators, in one of their two wins over the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL pre-season on Wednesday.

Ryan scored twice and had an assist in the Senators' 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs, in one of their split-squad matches at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Ottawa also had a 4-3 shoot-out win over Toronto at the Air Canada Centre.

The Edmonton Oilers edged the Winnipeg Jets 3-2, with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Bogdan Yakimov and Justin Schultz all netting in the second period for the winners.

Boston Bruins goalkeepers Tuukka Rask (14 saves) and Jeremy Smith (12) combined to shut out the Washington Capitals 2-0.

The Carolina Hurricanes were 4-2 winners over the New York Islanders, and the Dallas Stars had a 4-3 shootout win over the Florida Panthers.

The Calgary Flames were 4-3 overtime winners over the Arizona Coyotes.
