Vice President reveals how electricity problems will be solved

Osinbajo said on Monday, November 16, 2015, that the Federal Government would use alternative energy sources to improve power generation in the country.

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has explained how Nigeria’s power supply issues will be resolved.

The Vice President made the revelation while receiving a delegation of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission led by Director-General, Dr Erepamo Osaisai in Abuja

He said further that the FG was planning to add solar energy sources to the hydro and thermal sources currently being used to generate power in Nigeria.

“The long and short of it is that we definitely need a mix of energy choices because in the next decade such a mix will be imperative,” Osinbajo said according to Vanguard.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on November 11, 2015, appointed former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola as the Minister of Power, Works and Housing.

Nigerians have subsequently expressed their confidence in Fashola’s ability to solve the nation’s power problems due to his history of performance while in office as governor.
