Last year's winner, Oliver Solberg (Toyota), finally broke Sami Pajari's (Toyota) streak of consecutive stage victories at Rally Estonia, achieving this feat in only the tenth special stage today.
Yesterday, Pajari dominated the first seven stages of the ninth WRC round. He continued his winning ways by taking the first two morning stages today, but Solberg claimed the subsequent two before the midday service.
However, this didn't significantly impact the gap between the two. Pajari arrived at the service park with a 14.1-second lead, meaning he only conceded 0.6 seconds of his advantage during the morning stages.
In the battle for third place, Adrien Fourmaux holds a 5.6-second lead over his Hyundai teammate Thierry Neuville, though the Frenchman is 39 seconds adrift of Pajari.
The top six is rounded out by two more Toyota drivers: World Champion Sébastien Ogier sits in fifth, and WRC championship leader Elfyn Evans is in sixth.
Among the Rally1 drivers, only Joshua McErlean retired today. He initially stopped in the opening stage, losing 10 minutes, and then withdrew completely shortly after due to damage.
In WRC2, Robert Virves (Skoda) maintains his lead. Behind him, Rupe Korhonen (Toyota) moved into second ahead of Teemu Suninen (Toyota), but the gap between the two Finns is a mere 1.7 seconds. Virves holds a 7-second advantage over Korhonen.
Five stages remain for the day: two runs each of "Kambja" (23.74 km) and "Otepää" (15.16 km), followed by today's final stage, "Tartu Vald" (1.76 km).
