Oktoberfest is an annual 16-day folk festival running from mid or late September to the first weekend in October, with more than 6 million people from around the world attending the event every year.

It's that time of the year when tourists head to Munich, Germany for Oktoberfest, arguably the largest beer festival and travel fun fair.

Starting as a celebration of sorts after Crown Prince Ludwig, later to become King Ludwig I, was married to Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen on October 12, 1810, the event has since evolved through the years now becoming a beer, travel and fun extravaganza.
