The very basketball that delivered one of the most significant moments in modern New York Knicks history is now headed for auction.

This is the ball from OG Anunoby's game-winning tip-in during Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals. It will be sold by Sotheby's auction house, with bidding set to commence on June 30th.

While Sotheby's has not publicly announced an estimated price, veteran sports business analyst Darren Rovell predicts the ball could fetch up to $3 million.

The basketball is expected to generate immense interest due to its connection to the play that helped the Knicks clinch their first championship in 53 years.

This could very well be the most crucial single play in the history of New York basketball.

In Game 4 at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks trailed the San Antonio Spurs 105-106, facing the prospect of a 2-2 series tie. In the dying seconds, Jalen Brunson attempted a three-pointer under pressure from Victor Wembanyama. His shot missed, but Anunoby, unchecked, crashed the boards and, with an incredible tip-in, put the ball through the hoop with just 1.2 seconds remaining.

This pivotal moment came shortly after Anunoby had blocked a driving layup attempt by De'Aaron Fox on the other end of the court, a play that could have given the Spurs a three-point lead.

The British forward's heroic performance ultimately secured a dramatic 107-106 victory for New York on their path to a 4-1 series triumph.

The play also capped off the largest comeback in NBA Finals history. Earlier in the third quarter, the Knicks had trailed by 29 points before mounting their furious rally.

Instead of the series heading to San Antonio tied, the Knicks took a commanding 3-1 lead. Days later, they closed out the Spurs, securing their first NBA title since 1973.

The auction is part of a larger collection of Finals memorabilia, which includes game-worn jerseys, net clippings, and other items from the Big Apple team's championship run.

Given the potential price, the ball from Anunoby's tip-in could become the centerpiece of the auction, which is anticipated to be exceptionally lucrative.
