The highly anticipated boxing clash between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn has finally been officially confirmed.
After weeks of speculation and rumors, UFC CEO Dana White announced the fight on social media on Wednesday. The bout is set for September 12th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event will be broadcast live on Paramount+ in the United States, with international audiences able to stream it via DAZN.
The 27-year-old Garcia has long been considered one of boxing's fastest-rising stars, despite experiencing significant ups and downs in recent years. After suffering his first knockout loss to Gervonta "Tank" Davis in 2023, Garcia secured an impressive victory over Devin Haney. However, that result was later overturned and declared a no-contest after he tested positive for a banned substance.
In his subsequent fight, Garcia suffered a surprising defeat, losing to Rolly Romero by decision. The American finally returned to winning ways with a victory over Mario Barrios in February, claiming the World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight title.
For Benn, this will mark his second appearance under the "Zuffa Boxing" banner, having signed a multi-fight deal with the organization. With a career record of 25 wins and 1 loss, Benn avenged his sole defeat by beating Chris Eubank in a rematch last November. He then followed that up with a unanimous decision victory over Regis Prograis in April.
Now, Benn faces his biggest test yet in Ryan Garcia in the September showdown.
