The bill, which was sponsored by Senator Biodun Olujimi, was thrown out on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, after it failed to pass the second reading.

Ezekwesili especially condemned Senator Emmanuel Bwacha who cited biblical principles as his reason for opposing the bill.
