Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins continues his hot streak in the MLS as he scored an incredible goal to help Seattle Sounders to a 3-1 victory over Colorado Rapids.
Martins split Rapids defenders Bobby Burling and Drew Moor with a swift move before scoring with a calm finish.
“I can’t really remember what I did, but Rose gave me a good ball. I was thinking to control the ball facing our goal, but I just decided to do something different. So I just turned with the ball and placed it. It was just one of those times where you score a really good goal,” Martin said of the goal which has been described as a top candidate for goal of the season.
“Whenever you play LA, it’s one of the toughest games. We had a lot of chances and we couldn’t score. But we just moved on to the next game…and [today] we got the three points.”
Another Nigerian striker, Edward Ofere was on song over the weekend as he scored for his club, Caledonian Thistle to knock Celtic out of Scottish Cup.
