Nuno Mendes on being called the 'best full-back in the world': "It's always good to hear praise"

Nuno Mendes, the PSG defender currently with the Portuguese national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, has responded to praise from Marc Cucurella, who recently named the Portuguese international as his favorite left-back.

“It’s always great to hear such compliments; I’m pleased,” Mendes stated. “I’ve met him in person when we played against Chelsea. He’s an excellent person and a good player. However, I try to focus on my main objective, which is to help the national team.”

He further emphasized: “The rest, I’m happy about, but my focus is on the game, which is the most important thing for me, and on helping the national team.”
