While Oklahoma may have fallen to Denver, the big news for Serbian basketball fans was Nikola Topić's impressive start, finishing the game with 14 points (4/9 from two, 2/3 from three), two rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals.

He didn't share the court with Nikola Jokić, as the Sombor native sat out this particular game – but Topić did speak about him during the post-game press conference.

Specifically, he addressed a question about his relationship with both Jokić and Bogdan Bogdanović.

It's great to see everyone, of course. We have an excellent relationship. We've known each other for a while now. Every summer, we're together with the national team, so I know those guys well. It's truly a pleasure to be in their company and to know them. There aren't many Serbian players in the NBA, so we have to stick together, and that's exactly what we do. We look out for each other, and right now, they're looking out for me because I'm the youngest. But I hope that will change one day. Nikola Topić

It's worth remembering that Topić had the opportunity to train with the Serbian national team last summer. During a warm-up game against the Czechs, Jokić offered him a valuable lesson, suggesting he greet his teammates on the bench when he was substituted out of the game.
