Mother of rising Nollywood actress who died days before her housewarming alleges father’s family wants to sell her house instead of burying her there

Just a few days after Pulse Nigeria reported the death of rising Nollywood actress and content creator Nimmy Ferrari, her mother took to social media to plead for help, along with allegations that have added a painful family dispute to the tragedy.

Nimmy, whose real name was Adesanya Nimota Omotolani, died at 26, just days before she was expected to hold a housewarming ceremony for her newly completed home in Sagamu, Ogun State. 

Instead of welcoming friends, family and colleagues to celebrate the milestone, mourners gathered at the property for her burial.

But according to her mother, even the decision to bury Nimmy at the home has now become a source of conflict.

In a video recorded in Yoruba, the grieving woman alleged that members of Nimmy’s father’s family did not want her daughter buried at the house. She claimed the family wanted the property sold instead.

Her mother also opened up about the personal pain she says she has endured over the years. She alleged that she gave birth to five children and that all five have died, including Nimmy. She said she now has no one left and described the loss of her daughter as especially devastating.

The mother further claimed that she played a major role in Nimmy’s upbringing and education, saying she sponsored her daughter’s schooling.

She also made allegations about Nimmy’s father, describing him as irresponsible and claiming that he had been abusive towards her. At one point in the video, she alleged that he hit her on the head.

The allegations have not been independently verified, and Nimmy’s father’s family had not publicly responded to the claims at the time of publication.

Nimmy’s death had already shocked fans and colleagues across Yoruba Nollywood. Her colleague, actress Oluwakemisola Apesin, popularly known as Kemity, announced the death online, while Nimmy’s younger sister later confirmed it.

Unconfirmed reports have linked her death to complications following fibroid surgery, but her family has not publicly confirmed an official cause of death.

Now, beyond the grief over a 26-year-old woman who never got to celebrate the home she built, her mother’s allegations have opened another painful chapter surrounding Nimmy Ferrari’s death and burial.
