Introducing Talking Bookz, a Nigerian owned audio books publisher and retailer

Talking Bookz is a startup based up in Nigeria emerging as a publisher and an online retailer of audio books via its website.

On talkingbookz.com, users can buy and download audio books straight to their devices. The audio book retail setup works exactly like a normal e-commerce website. The genre of books range from business, health, fiction to self-help, management and children literature. The website doesn’t have any books by African authors yet but they will be available soon.

Talking Bookz was launched on the April 23rd, 2015, at the Mobile West Africa event and founded by DamilolaAransiola and Kolapo Ogungbile. It is also one of the 1000 startups that will participate in the Tony Elumelu-funded accelerator program, the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program.

“TalkingBookz seeks to disrupt the traditional book publishing market and redefine how Africans consume books”, says CEO, Kolapo Ogungbile.

Talking Bookz already has about 3000 audio books in its catalogue. The company is also working on partnering with African publishing houses to expand the African database on its website.

Audio books are available on TalkingBookz.com at a 10% discounted price plus the company is looking to provide a subscription based service for frequent buyers, corporate organizations and educational institutions.
