It points to us as a people who bark rather than effect real change.

They are me and you

They had everything figured out

Fat salaries, bonuses that fills their purse

So bogus without a doubt

For themselves of course

They are spineless,

They are thoughtless,

For if they truly represent us

They have disappointed us

They hide under charming smiles

They hide under bogus garments

They even get paid for travelling miles

To perform their duties without laments

I don’t envy such a job

The sad truth is that it isn’t

For it has become a club

Where the coward hides and bickers

They have the penchant for chasing lost causes

And a vigor for closing open doors

For the people they represent with certain clauses

That threatens to expose their flaws

They are me and you

They are our fathers

They are me and you

They are our mothers
