'The water is clean in your chalice too' by Michael Inioluwa Oladele
Dear Beatrice, pay attention to this,
You see, the flowers are always fresher,
In someone else’s garden,
This goes for everyone; the ‘envier’ and the envied.
.
Even those under the sea know this
And so they wish above all things
That Beauty above their blue sea
But the water is always cleaner
In somebody else’s chalice.
.
Even man agrees with me
And so he travels down to see
What lies under the deep blue sea
But the weather is always better overseas
.
So I tell you this, my dear Beatrice
Contentment is the needed hypothesis
To live a happy life of peace
And to always remember; what we see
Is better than what we don’t.
