Chairman appeals to all unqualified people to stop practicing

Quacks are everywhere and the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) is no different.

Speaking at the 22nd John Wood Ekpenyong Memorial Lecture/Fellows’ Induction ceremony, the Chairman, Mr. William Odudu, urged unqualified people to quit.
“We have discovered that lawyers, accountants, auctioneers who are not qualified to do this job have taken over the profession. Instead of clamping down on them, we are stressing the need for them to come out and get the proper training and also be registered before they can practices as professionals", he said.
Odudu was supported by the 14th President of the institution, Mr. Olayinka Sonaike, who called for harmony and partnership between single practitioners.

He added this partnership “has collective ability to compete locally and internationally…the days of single proprietorship are numbered.”
