President Muhammadu Buhari is seeking Senate confirmation for Anthony Okechuwku Ojukwu as the executive secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

This was contained in President Buhari's letter read at plenary by Senate President Bukola Saraki on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.
The NHRC was established in 1995 to assists victims of human rights violations.
The commission also helps in the formulation of the government’s policies on human rights.
