Newcastle United has announced the signing of midfielder Aladji Bamba from Monaco. The 20-year-old Frenchman has penned a contract until the summer of 2031 and will wear the number 8 shirt for his new club.
Bamba made his senior debut for Monaco in August 2025. Since then, he has featured in 25 matches across all competitions, registering two assists.
This deal follows the departure of midfielder Sandro Tonali from Newcastle to Tottenham earlier this summer, amidst reports that Bruno Guimarães could also be on his way out. The Magpies also secured a deal for 18-year-old Ajax midfielder Sean Steur earlier this month.
"Aladji adds depth and a range of qualities to our midfield options, with immense potential for growth. His development since breaking into the Monaco first team has been truly impressive, and it's something we believe we can help him build upon," said Newcastle manager Eddie Howe.
