The New York Knicks basketball team has accepted an invitation to visit the White House after winning the NBA playoffs in the 2025/26 season.
"We received an invitation from the White House and we accepted it. We still need to iron out the details, but yes, we will be visiting the White House," team owner James Dolan stated on WFAN radio. "Before this, I invited US President Donald Trump to attend our game. He's a friend of mine, I've known him for 30 years, and I'm very proud to bring the team to the White House," Dolan added.
In 2025, the Oklahoma City Thunder, who won the NBA championship, opted not to visit the White House. During Trump's first presidential term, the Golden State Warriors, who claimed titles in 2017 and 2018, also canceled their planned visit.
