Yann Diomande is highly likely to remain at RB Leipzig for the upcoming season, marking another twist in his transfer saga. According to "Bild," the German club has concluded that they won't receive their desired €120 million this summer and prefers to keep the winger. It's even possible the Ivorian could sign a new contract. The "Bulls" might agree to a sale now, but only if the buyer agrees to loan Diomande back to Leipzig for the next season.
The talented winger became Liverpool's top target to replace Mohamed Salah. The Merseyside club is the only one to have submitted an official offer so far, reportedly around €80 million plus €20 million in bonuses, but it was immediately rejected. Shortly after, leading media outlets in France, Germany, and England reported that Diomande had chosen Paris Saint-Germain and had a preliminary agreement with the French club. However, the European club champions have yet to make an official offer.
"Bild" claims that Diomande's camp has given a preliminary "yes" not only to PSG but also to several other clubs, with the publication naming Liverpool and both Manchester giants. However, the rumors surrounding PSG reportedly caused other contenders to withdraw from the bidding war.
After realizing they wouldn't get their asking price, Leipzig decided against a sale, especially since the team's new coach, Martin Demichelis, is keen for the club to do everything possible to retain the talented winger.
According to "Bild," the player himself has a very strong connection with RB Leipzig, and he and his family feel indebted for the support they received during a serious illness of a family member. Because of this, Diomande will not force his transfer.
If PSG fails to sign Diomande, it could also impact the future of Bradley Barcola, who has also been linked with a move to Liverpool.
