New Title Fight for Rico Verhoeven's Successor at Glory: 'He has no idea what world he's stepped into'
Just last month, Kromah successfully defended his Glory title against Milos Cvjeticanin. He spectacularly knocked out the Serbian kickboxer with his signature flying knee. According to Glory, that highlight reel moment went viral on social media, garnering over ten million views. It's no wonder Kromah has since been dubbed 'the new star of kickboxing.' He'll get another chance to prove himself against Plazibat at the end of 2026.
'This is a new era'
The two fighters already came face-to-face during Glory Collision 9 in June, after Plazibat won his bout against Anis Bouzid. They challenged each other at the press conference, and Glory wasted no time in making the fight happen. "Plazibat thinks he's coming to take my championship belt," says Kromah, who fights for Guinea. "He should think again. His time in Glory has passed. This is a new era, the Mory Kromah era. When my knee connects with his chin, he'll be put to sleep and only be able to dream of becoming a Glory champion."
'He has no idea'
Naturally, the Croatian fighter also had his chance to verbally attack his opponent. "The plan is simple. I'm going to rearrange his face and keep knocking him down until he gives up. He can stop playing heavyweight. He has no idea what world he's stepped into when he faces me in the ring."
The 26-year-old Kromah became the new heavyweight champion at Glory after Rico Verhoeven relinquished his title to pursue other avenues in his combat sports career. In the subsequent eight-man tournament, Kromah emerged victorious. Since then, he has successfully defended his title once against Cvjeticanin. Plazibat, 32, is currently ranked number 1 in Glory's rankings. He has won nine fights and lost two. Between 2023 and 2025, he did not fight due to persistent injuries. Since his return, he has won both of his bouts.
