Paula Hawkins, Zimbabwe-born, London-based novelist published her breakout hit book 'The Girl on the Train' in the United States back on January 13, and since then it has been wildfire hot with both critics and general readers.

This much-lauded psychological debut features a woman prone to blackouts and drunk dialling.

Because the book was a huge hit, it declared 2015’s Gone Girl,and the movie rights were snatched up before the book even hit shelves.

Now, the film is poised to be one of 2016’s big hits.

Emily Blunt was casted as recently divorced Rachel, the titular commuter who becomes strangely fascinated by a couple she spots on her way to work every day. When one of them disappears, Rachel becomes entangled in the investigation.

“The Girl on the Train” is the latest from “The Help” and “Get On Up” director Tate Taylor.

It also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Allison Janney, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans and Édgar Ramírez. The thriller opens Oct. 7.
