The unmarked sets will be distributed among 30,000 specially branded editions of the game, with only one of these replacing every note on the board with real money (a total windfall of €20,580 or N4,418,890.52).

Additional 10 sets will contain €300 (N64,415.31) in twenties, fifties and a single €100 note, while 69 other sets will offer €150 (N32,207.66) in tens and twenties.

Brand manager, Florence Gaillard told AFP: "We wanted to do something unique. When we asked our French customers, they told us they wanted to find real money in their Monopoly boxes."

According Hasbro, although there is no difference in weight between the normal sets and those with real money, the Euros do make the boxes slightly thicker. The hint however, suspiciously sounds like a ploy to encourage French shoppers to try and search out the sets.

Gaillard adds that the process of stocking the sets with real money was done in secret, with the company bailiff to handle and count the notes.

Speaking to AFP, the bailiff said: "When they asked me, I was giddy as a child."

This is definitely a dream come true for many Monopoly players who have always wanted to play the game with real money.
