Midfielder Luka Modric is reportedly keen to extend his stay at AC Milan for another season, according to "Gazzetta dello Sport."
Representatives from the Italian club have directly contacted the player, making it clear they are counting on him for the upcoming season. Both parties are prepared to sign a new agreement. A crucial factor in his decision was a phone call from head coach Ruben Amorim, who emphasized the Croatian's importance to his project. While a final decision has not yet been made, the 40-year-old footballer is inclined to accept Milan's offer. Modric's contract with the Rossoneri expired on June 30th. He joined the club last summer, making 37 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
Modric recently participated in the World Cup with the Croatian national team, who were eliminated by Portugal with a 2-1 loss in the Round of 16. The midfielder registered one assist in four matches during the tournament, which is likely his last major competition with the "Vatreni."
