Born in Liège on August 6, 2004, Diego Moreira's youth career saw him develop through the academies of Standard Liège and Benfica, where he completed his footballing education before making his professional debut. At the Lisbon club, he established himself at youth level, helping the U19 team win the UEFA Youth League in the 2021/2022 season. Just a few months later, he also lifted the U20 Intercontinental Cup. The following season, he made his Champions League debut, participating in the qualifying rounds.

In the summer of 2023, Moreira moved to Chelsea, making his first-team debut on August 30 in a Carabao Cup match against Wimbledon.

During the 2023/2024 season, he also played for Lyon, before making a permanent transfer to Strasbourg in the summer of 2024. In Alsace, the wide forward gradually established himself as one of the brightest young talents in French football, showcasing speed, technical prowess, and tactical versatility.

On the international stage, Diego Moreira progressed through all of Portugal's youth national teams up to the U21 level, participating in the 2023 European Youth Championship. However, from 2025, he opted to represent the senior national team of Belgium. He debuted in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and subsequently took part in the tournament itself.
