Mikel celebrates former teammate Drogba on retirement

Both Mikel and Drogba were teammates at Stamford Bridge from 2006 till 2012 and reunited for the 2014/15 season.

There were rivals on the pitch for their countries Nigeria and Ivory Coast at several Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.

Drogba who is a global icon and a Chelsea legend for his performance to give The Blues the Champions League trophy in 2012 against Bayern Munich.

Omeruo on Drogba

Super Eagles defender also praised Drogba on his career as he announced his retirement.

Omeruo who joined Chelsea in 2012 and played against Drogba at the 2013 AFCON wished the Ivory Coast legend well in retirement.

Drogba before his retirement scored 65 goals in 104 games for his country winning the 2015 AFCON and contributed 164 goals across all competitions for Chelsea in 381 games.
