Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has revealed that he values his OBE award like the medals he won with the London club.

The Chelsea record goalscorer was on Tuesday, October 27 honoured with the OBE by Prince William for his services to football in England.

Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) is the fourth order of the British Empire.

Lampard was honoured in a ceremony that took place at Buckingham Palace where he was joined by his fiancee Christine Bleakley and his two daughters, Isla and Luna.

Speaking about honour, Lampard said “As a personal achievement goes, this ranks up there with my achievements on the pitch and what I won with Chelsea, and playing for my country.

“But to receive an award like this among some very special people here, military, people who are doing a lot of good work in charity, it's very humbling to be here.”

Lampard spent 11 years at Chelsea before leaving in 2014 as their all-time top goalscorer with 211 goals.

He won three English Premier League titles, four FA Cup trophies, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and two League Cups.

Now 37, Lampard plays for Major League Soccer (MLS)franchise New York City.

He made his England debut in 1999 and went on to win 106 caps.
