Initially, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff maintained that the company would not utilize ADUO upgrades, even recently reiterating his belief that the German manufacturer already boasts the best engine in Formula 1. However, reports have now surfaced suggesting that this new engine specification might debut as early as Monza.

The new power unit is expected to feature improved fuel combustion, revised and enhanced turbocharger components, and will likely be paired with a new fuel formulation from Petronas. The primary objective is to achieve a higher level of reliability and overall improved performance – translating to more power, better power delivery, and more predictable responses from the engine's turbo and hybrid systems.
