Red Bull leader Max Verstappen has pinpointed the exact areas where the team must improve their performance in the second half of the Formula 1 campaign if they aim for greater success.

The Milton Keynes-based squad is the only team among the top four yet to secure a Grand Prix victory this year.

The RB22 chassis has presented significant challenges for Verstappen and his teammate Isaac Hadjar through the first 11 rounds of the season. While Verstappen has managed to secure five podium finishes so far, a win has eluded him as he grapples with the car's balance and aerodynamic limitations.

“Overall, the first half of the season has been very tough,” Verstappen explained after the Hungarian Grand Prix. “There have been some good moments, some bright, shining moments, I suppose, but generally it’s been difficult. So we need to try and be more solid, a bit more complete, to have more seamless weekends.”

With new technical regulations coming into effect this year, Formula 1 teams are locked in an upgrade battle, with ample potential to find improved pace.

Verstappen insisted that Red Bull cannot afford to slow down as the season enters its second half, with the Dutch Grand Prix scheduled for next month.

“We also need to find more speed,” he stated. “Ultimately, it’s that simple. And besides finding more speed, we also need to avoid the issues we’re currently having with the package, so to speak.”
