Marseille Announces Key Departure Ahead of New Season

French giants Olympique Marseille have officially announced the departure of their Executive Director, Alessandro Antonello, who joined the club in July 2025.

The Italian is stepping down from the position he has held since July 2025. In their statement, the French club extended their gratitude to the executive for his contributions.

"He brought his expertise to Olympique Marseille to initiate several major projects, particularly in revenue development and stadium monetization. The club expresses its gratitude to Alessandro for his dedication and the work accomplished during this period. The projects he helped launch will be continued and strengthened as part of the roadmap defined by the new management," the Provençal club stated in their official announcement.

The Southern French team will kick off their 2026/2027 Ligue 1 campaign today, August 21st (Friday), with a home fixture against Strasbourg. The match is scheduled to start at 9:45 PM Bulgarian time.
