Reports surfaced this month claiming Piastri had informed McLaren of his intention to depart at the end of the season, alongside suggestions of a potential swap with Max Verstappen.
"Oscar is under contract with McLaren for the foreseeable future," Mark Webber clarified. "Claims that he will leave McLaren are nonsense. There's been a lot of fantasy written about him and other teams..."
"McLaren has repeatedly stated they want him to stay long-term, and Oscar is focused on that."
