The Spaniard, who currently sits second in the overall standings, 12 points behind leader Jorge Martin, stated he was fortunate to even complete the race at Spielberg. He also mentioned having the pace to contend for a higher position, but the inconsistent performance of his bike made it impossible.

"I believe I had the speed to be fourth or even on the podium; it wouldn't have been difficult. We struggled more than in other weekends, but we were there. The problem was that in the first part of the race, I had significant difficulties with the front brake. But suddenly, the brake started working again. After that, I began to pick up my pace and gained a few positions. However, it was clearly too late. The positive aspect is that this is something visible in the data, so it can be analyzed, and we can try to find a solution for the future. I had major problems, which is why in the initial laps, I wasn't pushing hard in the braking zones. I was just trying to understand the lever's behavior with each brake application and started losing a lot of ground. I feel very lucky today because the maximum I could have achieved was second or third place, and I ended up fifth, so we'll see," Marquez told the media at the Red Bull Ring.
