Wenger can’t explain why his team had no captain against Manchester City
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger cannot explain why his team did not have a captain in the second half of the 2-2 Premier League draw with on Sunday, April 2.
Arsenal started the game with stand-in captain Laurent Koscielny who went off injured at half time.
Koscielny was replaced by Gabriel Paulista but no on wore the armband throughout the second half.
It appeared Wenger didn’t even know about it and could not explain why during his press conference on Tuesday, .
“I don’t remember,” Wenger said.
“No, it is a good question. Nobody asked me who is captain. I will have 24 hours to think about that,” he said when he was asked who will lead the team against West Ham.
The Premier League have a rule that a team must have a captain during a game and have called Arsenal to remind them of the regulation.
Arsenal will however not been punished by the Premier League.
