Manchester City manager, Manuel  Pellegrini has hailed Nigeria youth international after his impressive display for the Citizens in their 5-1 Capital One Cup win over Crystal Palace.

The 19-year-old last month scored a 90th minute winner for City against Palace last month and Pellegrini has revealed that he never doubted the forward.

“I didn’t have doubts about him,” Pellegrini told Daily Mail.

“I see how he works every day. He’s a very good player and not just a finisher because he assisted on two goals.

“In this moment it’s very important for the team to have Kelechi and Bony. Sergio is injured and they can play together as they did tonight.

“Kelechi is a young player, very impressive, but Bony knows he has all the trust of me and the team. Aguero is impossible to replace but we have other options.”

Wilfried Bony, Kevin De Bruyne, Yaya Touré and Garcia Alonso were the other scorers for City on the night.

Damien Delaney scored the consolation goal for Palace.
