Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili's injury is not serious, according to The Athletic. The Georgian international sustained a deep gash to his left knee after a collision with Beto during the 2-1 Merseyside derby victory against Everton. Reports suggest he will be sidelined for two to four weeks.
Meanwhile, Mamardashvili himself posted photos from the match on Instagram today, accompanied by the caption: “Thank God, everything is fine. Thank you all for your support and for being by my side. I’ll be back soon. Big derby win and 3 points.”
In the match against Everton, the 25-year-old was replaced by third-choice keeper Freddie Woodman, who is now the likely starter for Saturday's home fixture against Crystal Palace. First-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker, also recovering from an injury, will aim to be fit for the derby clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford, scheduled for May 3rd.
