Former Real Madrid and France national team midfielder Claude Makelele has revealed he personally recommended Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. Spanish media previously reported that the 'Blancos' are interested in the 24-year-old.
“Michael Olise at Real Madrid? I would fully support that. I had the opportunity to speak with President Florentino Perez and I told him: If there's money to spend on only one player, it's him. Olise brings back that same feeling for football, that taste we experienced as children: talent, freedom, quality, effectiveness. When he's not on the pitch, his absence is noticeable. When Olise is in form, you feel he can do something unexpected at any moment, like Messi,” Makelele shared.
Olise has been playing for Bayern since 2024. In the 2025/26 season, he featured in 52 matches for the Munich club across all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 31 assists. At the World Cup, the Frenchman registered six assists in six games.
